Ever wondered what the link is between Barbie, feminism, and women's health is?

The Pink Ladies Long Lunch is an annual fundraising event in Darwin that celebrates, advocates, and raises vital funds for women's health awareness and care during October - Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Barbie marked the beginning of second-wave feminism - a movement that aimed for equality in various areas of women's lives, especially gender roles and reproductive rights.

This played a crucial role in laying the groundwork for an increased focus on women's health, including cancer screenings such as opportunistic cervical screening which began in Australia in the 1960s, and this trajectory resulting in national screening programs for Breast Cancer and Cervical Cancer.

This afternoon celebrates the progress and advocacy of these movements for women's health with a fantastic long lunch to enjoy!

This event is great way to catch-up with your friends over a long lunch while supporting those those affected by breast and gynecological cancers.

Drink upon arrival in the foyer of the Ballroom at The DoubleTree by Hilton, followed by a fabulous Three-Course meal. A cash bar is available in the ballroom.
